8/10 – When Messi retires, I will cry forever!

The new Barcelona coach seems to be an unconditional fan of the Catalan club and its game identity as this old declaration about Lionel Messi shows once again.
“When a player like Xavi retires, it’s as if a kidney is removed. And the day that Messi retires, we will cry forever.”
A surprising statement, but one that will certainly facilitate his integration into the club, and his relationship with the GOAT.
It seemed that fate rewarded him by allowing him to train Messi before his retirement, and his tears mentioned will be more endemic if fate wrote to him to see the GOAT retire by being his coach.

9/10 – A very strict and dogmatic philosophy

Quique Setién has a particularly strong character, like many of his dogmatic counterparts. A quality in some cases, but which can also become a defect in others, in terms of his communication for example. This can sometimes create sparks in such high profile clubs. He’s a coach who chooses the means before the goal, and who doesn’t seem obsessed with winning if it doesn’t come with the way. He will not hesitate to be satisfied after a defeat if he considers that his team has played well, and he does not keep his tongue when it comes to attacking his philosophy.
On the side of Las Palmas, he had ended up losing his group, divided following internal conflicts and the fights were very frequent. His instructions no longer passed and that was felt on the ground, that’s what caused him to leave.
We will have to see how he manages to adapt with a locker room like that of Barça.
